Conference strategy and stakeholder engagement

Conference presentationInsideOutWorks recently provided strategic planning, marketing, and sponsorship development for a successful ‘Smarter Workplace Safety' Symposium for the Human Factors Group at the University of Auckland.

To ensure the symposium's success we obtained in depth feedback from senior professionals involved in workplace health and safety. We clarified their needs in this specialist area and what was most important to focus on. This provided key data to precisely tailor the programme format, themes and timing to target audience needs.

We then assisted the Group to form a partnership with the CEO level Business Leaders Health and Safety Forum. This resulted in the development of a dedicated session on the subject for CEOs as an adjunct to the symposium.  Along with this, we negotiated sponsorship for the event from a major industry group and a large crown entity.

We also developed a targeted marketing programme making extensive use of existing networks to attract over 140 delegates resulting in a financially and professionally successful event.

Feedback from our client

Mary's attention to detail, and thorough approach, have proved a boon to our project. She is always well prepared and organised, and will see a task through to a successful conclusion despite challenges. Unfailingly pleasant, she can also be directive where necessary - which is essential when co-ordination between multiple stakeholder groups is necessary. She remains calm under pressure, retaining a clear vision of what needs to be done in complex situations. She provided important impetus to the carrying out  of plans, ensuring that key milestones were met, and securing sponsorship from two key sponsors. Mary obtained valuable in-depth feedback from our key stakeholders. She undertook proactive marketing to prospective clients, and extended many contacts and identified future business opportunities. I would thoroughly recommend her services.
