Marys Unmissable Musings

At the start of each month, Mary shares her Unmissable Musings on living well, connecting with nature and redefining adventures. Here are some May Musings.

My Musings:

Life is a voyage of discovery with no clear destination, alternating between smooth sailing and rough passages, with many course corrections. Eventually, like shifting seasons, we circle back to who we are, where we belong and what we stand for.

Striving to be better is an admirable quality. Yet, when we become too fixated on getting better, we forget how far we have come, and dilute the uniqueness and power we already possess.

In the rush to express ourselves, we overlook the value of silence, and miss the hidden depths and substance of deeper friendship, and a connection to our deeper selves.

Quotes from Others:

Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony. - Mahatma Gandhi

Our painful life lessons are the raw material for our future wisdom. – Chip Conley

As we listen deeper to our bodies and elevate our health as a value in our lives, we walk the earth attuned, resilient and nourished. - Chris Anderson

Books to Read:

Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano

Dirt Town by Hayley Scrivenor

A Poetic Journey through Aotearoa by Mary Somervell and Steven Vaughan

A Question for You:

When you stop and listen to your mind and body, what rises to the surface?

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,

but by the moments that take our breath away.
